Sorteada la primera fase del Europeo de Budapest (RFEN)

09/03/2014 - Budapest ha acogido hoy el sorteo de la primera fase del Campeonato de Europa, que tendrá lugar este verano del 14 al 27 de julio. La Selección Masculina ha quedado encuadrada en un grupo complicado con Serbia, Hungría, Alemania, Francia y Croacia. La Femenina deberá hacer frente también a rivales de entidad, y jugará con Italia, Rusia y Francia. Los líderes de la primera ronda avanzan directamente a semifinales, y 2º y 3º disputarán una eliminatoria previa.

Sorteo Europeo Masculino

Grupo A: Montenegro, Italia, Grecia, Rusia, Georgia y Rumanía
Grupo B: Serbia, Hungría, Alemania, Francia, Croacia y España.

Sorteo Europeo Femenino

Grupo A: Grecia, Hungría, Holanda y Gran Bretaña
Grupo B: Italia, Rusia, España y Francia

The 2014 European Championships draw, performed on Sunday in Budapest, unveiled a pair of group of deaths in both tournaments, to be played between July 14 and 27 in the Hungarian capital. A strong group B in the men's tournament features hosts Hungary facing powerhouses Serbia, Croatia and Spain, completed by the teams from Germany and France. In group A both Montenegro and Italy, already in the same group in this year's World League preliminary phase, take on Greece, Russia, newcomer Georgia and Romania. In the women's tournament it was unveiled that Greece meets hosts Hungary, The Netherlands and Great Britain. Also in this case group B features multiple heavyweights as Italy takes on Russia, Spain and outsider France. In both tournaments the respective group winners will qualify for the semi-finals directly while the second and third seeded teams will play crossing matches for semi-final qualification. The exact schedule of the tournament is to be announced in the coming days.
